Lawrence, KS: Raven Books & Ad Astra Running
Spend an afternoon with the man who changed running!
"Born To Run" author Christopher McDougall is coming to Lawrence to discuss his new book, "Running With Sherman." Join McDougall at Ad Astra Running for a free community run followed by a free book presentation and signing at The Raven Book Store (6 E. 7th St.).
Boulder, CO: In Motion Running
Note #1: This event will be limited to 100 people and we will have tickets available as of Sept. 30th.
Note #2: There will also be a fun run the next morning on Oct. 15th in Boulder. More details to follow on all of this on In Motion Running social media channels soon.
Note #3: at my last event in Boulder I was nearly arrested for accidentally leading an unlicensed trail run. Who knows what surprises we'll spring this time?
Denver, CO: Tattered Cover Books
The place where the Sherman adventure all began! 5280 magazine hired me to write about a mysterious Mexican running tribe and next thing I knew, I was being dragged down a mountain by a 6-foot donkey.
San Diego, CA: Elevation Culture & Milestone Running
Elevation Culture, Milestone Running, and Warwick's are elated to host a meet and greet, run, chat, raffle, and Running with Sherman book launch with author Christopher McDougall. Will there be prizes? And tasty ales? And heart-soaring donkey videos? Only by reserving your ticked will you ever know.
Santa Barbara: SB Running Co & Chaucer’s Books
8 am: I'll be joining the Santa Barbara Running Company crew for their weekly Saturday morning run
6pm: Join us at Santa Barbara Running Company's new location in Montecito. I'll be showing video clips of Sherman in action, telling the story of his unreal transformation from death watch to mountain racing, and giving away some of the best donkey sway you've ever seen.
San Fran: Kepler’s Literary, with Angie Coiro & Baron Park Donkey Project
No better way to celebrate animal-human partnerships than visiting the inspiration for Shrek's best friend. We'll visit Palo Alto's beloved donkeys in the morning, then head to Kepler's in the afternoon to hear how Sherman fought his way back from captivity.
NOTE: Tickets are required.
Corte Madera: Book Passage
I'm stoked to return to Book Passage, site of one of the biggest barefoot runs I ever hosted back when "Born to Run" was new. This time, I'll be screening some rockin' short vids of Sherman in action and telling the story of his unreal transformation from death watch to mountain racing.
Ashland, OR: Bloomsbury Books
I'll be speaking at Bloomsbury Books and maaaaaybeee joining a fun run earlier in the evening with Rogue Valley Runners. At least I hope so, but I haven't talked to Hal Koerner yet. Updates coming!
Portland, OR: Powell’s Books at Cedar Hills Crossing
So technically it's not really Portland but actually Beaverton. Powell's tells me the Cedar Hills location is actually one of their biggest but I don't know, kinda feels like they're exiling me to the suburbs. Whatever, let's pack the joint and show them that donkeys bring in the good people.
Nov 15: Richmond Marathon Expo with Chop Suey Books
Christopher will be speaking at the Richmond Marathon expo and presenting free, magical, anti-cramping, personal-best-guaranteeing Sherman tattoos.
